Andaman & Nicobar Islands Tour
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands is a Union Territory of India. It comprises two island groups, the Andaman Islands and the Nicobar Islands, separated by the 10° N parallel, with the Andamans to the north of this latitude, and the Nicobars to the south. Port Blair is the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands union territory.
The Andamans are a paradise for ecologists and ornithologists with 242 species of birds, 46 species of mammals and 78 species of reptiles-some of them rare and almost extinct. These live in dense rain forests surrounded by mangroves that seem to become part of the sea. It is also house to brilliant tropical flowers, including the orchid, and an array of butterflies.
Main tourist attractions include the cellular jail (kalapani), beaches, islands (Ross, Viper, Havelock); museums and mini zoo. Pay homage to martyrs at the cellular jail (kalapani). Haviing a close look at the Death House and the instruments of torture brings to mind India's freedom struggle and the contribution of those who gave their life for the country.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 (Arrive Port Blair)
Arrive Port Blair. Upon arrival transfer to Hotel. Afternoon visit water sports complex, Gandhi park, corbyns cove beach and sound & light show (7 kms. from port blair - a coconut palm fringed beach ideal for swimming, sun bathing, scuba diving etc. ) Enthralling Sound and light show at Cellular Jail-where the heroic saga of the Indian freedom struggle is brought alive.
Day 2 (Port Blair)
After breakfast move to sight seeing tour for visiting cellular jail, Chatam Saw Mill, Forest Museum, Mini Zoo, Anthropological Museum, Fisheries (Marine) Museum, Samudrika , Cottage Industry Emporium. And afternoon cruise along Port Blair harbour-visit to viper island, We proceed for Harbour Cruise which will take us to Viper Island amongst other. The gallows atop a hillock and Overnight Stay.
Day 3 (Port Blair)
We start off after breakfast for a full day excursion to Red Skin / Jolly Buoy Islands (about 60 kms. from Port Blair)- the two islands in Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park to see coral reefs, fantastic varieties of beautiful ornamental fish and other marine life. The fascinating world of tropical forest and sandy beaches coupled with clear blue water creates a breath - taking aura.
Day 4 (Port Blair)
Morning to visit Ross Island: From where the Britishers governed this entire A & N Islands, prior to India's Independence. Afternoon drive across southern most trip of Andaman Islands - visit to Chiriyatapu beach (26 kms.). Its generally known as bird island. Lush green mangroves and beautiful beach with breath - taking sunset making a mesmerizing environment. Overnight Stay.
Day 5 (Depart Port Blair)
Transfer to Airport to board the flight for your hometown. Tour Concludes.
