Munnar, Guruvayur Tour
Munnar is the one of best known hill stations of India. You can see the scenic attractions of Munnar on Kerala tours with Kerala Backwater. Munnar was the favored summer resort of the erstwhile British rulers in the colonial days. The tea plantations in Munnar are a result of the British government discovering that is was possible to grow tea in the pleasant climate of Munnar. Munnar is situated at an altitude ranging from 1500m to 2695m and has some of the highest tea estates in India.
Guruvayur, known as the "Dwarka of South" is one of the most important pilgrim centre of Kerala. Lord Krishna is the presiding deity of the temple. Here here is popularly known as "Guruvayoorappan" meaning the Lord of Guruvayur. The temple is known for the healing powers. Ekadasi (Nov. / Dec.) is the most important festival of the temple.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 (Arrive Cochin)
Arrive at Cochin our representative will meet you and transfer to Munnar (Approx. 143KM) On the way see Valara, Cheeyappara waterfalls, Karadippara view point. Check in to hotel, spent rest of the evening relaxing in the hotel.
Day 2 (Munnar)
Today we will visit the Eravikulam National park - famous for Nilagiri Tahr, Echo Point, Kundala dam and Matupety Reservoir. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3 (Guruvayur)
Post breakfast proceed to Guruvayoor (approx. 178KM) Check into hotel rest and relaxation Evening 'Dershan' in the Guruvayur temple. Overnight stay at the hotel
Day 4 (Guruvayur - Cochin)
Early morning 'darshan' at the Guruvayur temple. Afterwards, check out the hotel and proceed to cochin (Approx. 95KM) and board the flight / train for onward journey. Tour Concludes.
